JUST AIRING OUT MY LAUNDRY!
Laundry from The Mother Load @ 1:20 PM
My girlfriend is going through the same thing and we were discussing this yesterday. Has he gone yet? If not, how about taping him reading some storybooks, or just telling stories, so you can play them back at bedtime, or when they really miss him.You could also have a 'special' evening or day doing something fun, something you don't usually do. I let my daughter stay up late and sleep with me.Good luck.
webcam?also - I once read about a mom who would put a spritz of perfume on a hanky for her daughter to bring to school and when she felt like she missed her mommy she could take a big breath of mommy smell. I don't know if daddy smell would be quite the same but if he wears a colgne it might be worth a shot.
This is going to be tough for the kids, I know, I've been through it so many times. Here are some of the things that works for us when daddy gets deployed.First thing we do is take one of daddy's favorite pics with the kids, and blow it up. They each get their own to hold on to every night and to look at when they are missing him. They get to pick one of daddy's t-shirts to sleep with, and then I use some of his cologne on it, the kids love it and makes them feel like daddy is right there. We also keep a scrapbook, or journal where the kids draw pictures everyday of what they do while daddy is gone, when he returns they all sit down and go through them, they LOVE it.Email, phone or webcam is great too, although usually where hubby goes he doesn't have access to a webcam. It's not going to be easy, but I am sure you will make it, I'll be right here supporting you through this :)God Bless,Sandra
You might arrnage for your hubby to write several letters for them to open and various times while he's gone.
